Back on the Saddle
My last post was in 2010...shameful. It's not that I haven't been working, I have...but somehow talking about it has never been one of my strong suits. It's a shame though because some good stuff has been created during the past 4 years, and now they are mostly gone, never to be spoken about. C'est la vie.
But, this is my year! I know it's October, almost the end of the year. But somehow I've been injected with creativity juice the last couple of months and I've been painting up a storm! I'm very pleased with what I've been working on lately, and decided that I wanted to talk about it. So, here we go.
This beautiful lady's name is Evelyn. I have painted her before, but I wanted to repaint her with different colors this time...and I'm very happy with the results. The canvas, as is my style, is texturized. Not too much, but enough to give it depth and an organic feeling. She's elegant and has an overall sense of peace and satisfaction.
Last night, I had the honor of showing her together with another piece at this year's Que Pasa Festival Award Night. It was a great night with some of the best Latin musicians in New Orleans and a group of very talented artist.
So, here she is and I can't wait to start on Penelope....
