Mexican Sacred Hearts
I've been a busy bee working on a series I started two years ago and which I must say it gets my mixed media juices flowing. I have always been interested in paintings depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and specially the one's created by Mexican artists. Their colorful renditions have always taken my breath away. In my paintings, I have taken the same idea and giving it my own twist.
When I start on a new heart, I let my imagination go - everything is acceptable. I love to venture with color and texture, incorporating what might seem like random items but each one carefully chosen so that when everything is put together, it elicits and portrays a particular over-all feeling.
I'm on my fourth one so far, and have visions of many more....
You can take a look at them at www.etsy.com/shop/artbyjackiegonzalez. Enjoy!
